Let’s Talk

Our process

Six Stages. No Surprises.

A clear, repeatable way of working that keeps every project tied to your goals, and gives you something to review at each step.

Discover

We begin by listening. Before anyone opens a design tool or an editor, we want a clear picture of the business, the people the product is for, and the problem worth solving.

What happens

  • Stakeholder conversations
  • User and context research
  • Review of existing systems and constraints

What you receive

  • A shared statement of the problem
  • Goals and measures of success
  • Open questions and risks

Your role

Share what you know: your goals, your users, and what has or has not worked before.

Define

Ideas become a plan. We test the assumptions that carry the most risk, agree what the first release must do, and outline how the system will be built.

What happens

  • Idea and business model validation
  • Requirements and prioritization
  • Outline architecture and estimates

What you receive

  • Prioritized scope for the first release
  • Architecture outline
  • Roadmap, estimate, and team plan

Your role

Make the priority calls. We bring options and trade-offs; you decide what matters most.

Design

Experience design and technical design happen together. Users get an interface that makes sense, and engineers get a foundation that will hold.

What happens

  • User flows and wireframes
  • Interface design and prototyping
  • Detailed technical design

What you receive

  • Tested, clickable prototype
  • Interface designs and design system
  • Technical design ready to build from

Your role

Review prototypes early and often. Feedback is cheapest at this stage.

Build

We build in small, visible increments. You see working software regularly, not a big reveal at the end, and quality checks run alongside development.

What happens

  • Incremental development
  • Code review and automated checks
  • Regular demos and progress updates

What you receive

  • Working software at each increment
  • Documented, maintainable code
  • A clear view of progress and risk

Your role

Join the demos, try the product, and tell us what you see.

Validate

Testing runs throughout the project, and intensifies before release. We check that the product works, that people can use it, and that it holds up under real conditions.

What happens

  • Functional and regression testing
  • Usability and compatibility checks
  • Performance testing

What you receive

  • Prioritized findings, fixed or planned
  • Release readiness summary
  • Confidence in what is going live

Your role

Take part in acceptance testing and confirm the product does what you need.

Evolve

Launch is the start of the product's life. We stay involved to support it, learn from how it is used, and keep improving it.

What happens

  • Release and handover
  • Monitoring and support
  • Iteration based on feedback

What you receive

  • A live, supported product
  • A backlog shaped by real use
  • A plan for what comes next

Your role

Share what users are telling you, so the next iteration aims at the right things.

The stages are a guide, not a cage.

Real projects loop back. A finding in testing can reshape a design, and feedback after launch can open a new round of discovery. The process gives that movement structure without slowing it down.

Common questions

Before you ask.

A few of the questions we hear most often about how projects run.

We only have an idea. Is that enough to start?

Yes. Many projects begin as an outline. A discovery phase turns the idea into a clear problem statement, a prioritized scope, and a realistic plan, so you can decide how to proceed with confidence.

How do we get started?

Send us a message through the contact form. We will review it, arrange a conversation to understand your goals in more detail, and then suggest a recommended approach with a clear outline of scope, team, and next steps.

How do you estimate cost and timeline?

Estimates follow understanding. Once we know what you need, we provide an estimate based on scope and team. Where requirements are still uncertain, we recommend a short discovery phase first, so the estimate rests on evidence rather than guesswork.

Can you work with our existing team or codebase?

Yes. We can extend your team with additional capacity, take on a defined part of the product, or begin with a technical review of an existing system and recommend how to move it forward.

Which technologies do you use?

We choose the technology to suit the product, your team, and the long-term maintenance picture, and we agree the stack with you during discovery. If you already have a preferred stack, tell us and we will discuss the fit.
